Sharon Ann Leal is an actor of Filipino and African-American descent, who made a name for herself through her appearances on the TV show Boston Public and in the romantic musical Dreamgirls. She was born in Arizona and spent the majority of her childhood in the Philippines before moving in California with her family. In her teens, she was able to beginning to perform in stage productions of local theater companies.
