Andra Day and Andi Matichak

Cassandra Monique Batie, professionally called Andra day is an American R&B musician and singer. She's been awarded the Grammy Award and Children's and Family Emmy Award. Golden Globe Award as well as Academy Award nominations are also an honor for her. Andra Days is an impressive performer who writes beautifully. In addition, she is a master of the throwback genre of R&B, her musical origins are in blues and gospel jazz. Her debut album, Cheers To The Autumn (2015), was an instant record in the hiphop/R&B genre and led to a number of Grammy and Academy Award nominations. Stand Up for Something (2017), her contribution to Marshall's soundtrack, earned her both awards. Amen (2018), Take Your Troubles go Away (2020) and their Golden Globe winning portrayal of Billie Holiday (The United States vs. Billie Holiday 2021) are all contributing to the anticipation for her next album. Born Cassandra Monique Batie in Edmonds Washington Andra Day, she grew up in San Diego and its metropolitan area where she performed in church and enrolled at the School of Creative and Performing Arts. Following her graduation from the school, she was drawn to the newer styles of R&B and pop, but she found herself drawn to the jazz and soul vocalists she heard as a youngster. An important break occurred when a performance of hers was caught by Kai Millard Morris who subsequently took some of Day's music to husband Stevie Wonder. In turn, the Motown legend connected Day with music industry experienced Adrian Gurvitz. Day's following on YouTube increased rapidly after she teamed up along with Gurvitz, Jeffrey Evans and Buskin. Day eventually reached a deal with a major record label in partnership with Warner Bros. The song was immediately taken up by DJs who began airing the track on radio. In 2015, after signing in 2015 with Warner Bros. Records she began working on her debut album, Cheers To The Fall featuring Adrian Gurvitz. The song "Rise Up" became a global anthem for social justice campaigns. Day was nominated to win two Grammy Awards, which included Best R&B Album. The United States against Billie Holiday is a conceptual recording about the famous jazz musician. It came out by Day in the year. In the same year, she appeared in a biopic of Holiday's story, The United States vs. Billie Holiday (2021). Andi Mathichak was born and raised in America. She started her career on television shows like Orange Is the New Black, 666 Park Avenue and Blue Bloods. Her debut in film was when she appeared as Allyson in the horror series Halloween. Andi is an American actor who was born in Framingham on 3rd May 1994.
